This is Brian Orser’s third lesson in his eight part series of how to get “Speed for free”. Brian now adds a change of edge to the previous exercise inside edges. You will see how to do this exercise and see Brian lead and demonstrate.
Brian talks about being aware of your knees and also your shoulder blades. He explains how to engage the shoulder blade. He explains how this helps your blade move easily. He then shows you a backwards exercise. This is a great warm up exercise or great to put into your program.
Brian then shows the importance of control and demonstrates how to do any turn any time. He compares this to step sequences and the importance of great balance. You will then see him turn by request of the skaters and Brian then shows some great control and balance.
