Flying Camel How To Master The Take Off

Product Description

This 1 minute and 57 second video lesson begins with Tugba having students closely examine the bottom of their blades, paying careful attention to the toe pick. Tugba tells students that while it is possible to spin on the bottom tooth of the pick, she really wants students to get onto one of the upper teeth to do this move. To get onto the proper place on the pick the body must be leaning forward.

She then has students perform an exercise at the boards. Holding onto the boards with both hands, she asks students to lean far forward and to get on the top of their toe pick, knee bent, heel up and the opposite leg extended backward.

When students feel confident with this she shows them how to glide forward on an outside edge, lean forward and place weight on the top of the toe pick and spin for about ¾ of a turn before hopping onto, and spinning on, the toe pick of the opposite leg.

Note: If your flying camel does not achieve “almost a full split in the air” you could lose valuable points and/or receive deductions.
