ATTENTION: As of July 1 2014 The regular backward entry is no longer considered a difficult entry.
For the pre novice and novice ladies in the short program this is a helpful feature because You only have 2 spins and one is a layback the other a combination so this is a good way to increase your levels.
You may still use this entrance to build a spin. Some skaters will spin faster with this entry and therefore get a higher GOE. So remember this is no longer a difficult entry but still may be used.
The stronger and deeper your edges are on entry the easier this is to control and gain speed. A little bit of drag not too much with your free leg and foot can create a really strong edge which really gets this entry spinning.
Remember the faster you spin the more rotations you get the more rotations you get the more points you will get the more points you get the higher you place I think we get the picture here.
